That depends on your number of dependents and the plan that you choose. The 2024-2027 CBA states that for faculty newly enrolled in a health plan after October 11, 2024 the District will completely cover the premiums for Kaiser Permanente or PERS Gold PPO. For all other plans, the District will contribute a maximum of $34,500 a year towards medical insurance premiums of the plan chosen by the faculty member. All subscriber and subscriber+1 plans are under the $34,500 cap for 2025. There are a limited number of subscriber+2 plans that will incur an out of pocket premium cost.
Any out of pocket premium expenses paid by the faculty member will be paid by automatic payroll deductions in accordance with established District payroll procedures.
No. The Part Time Faculty Healthcare program only covers health insurance premiums for faculty and their dependents. Vision and dental must be secured independently by the Part Time Faculty member. Check out UnionPlus for dental and vision options.
If you meet the eligibility to participate in a District provided healthcare plan you can choose one that best fits you and your family's needs. Please note that there may be an out of pocket cost associated with some District provided family healthcare plans.
