Membership dues are automatically deducted from monthly paychecks of CCFF union members.
The amount is the same for each month. Full-time faculty members contribute $116.86. Part-time faculty members contribute $28.59 for 2024-25.

No dues are collected during summer. Dues are only automatically deducted from paychecks for the 10-month academic year.
Dues are not collected from anyone who does not have a class assignment for any given semester.
Dues amount to a very small percentage of the annual income for both full-time and part-time faculty.
Union dues may be tax deductible on the California tax return if you qualify for itemized deductions.

New AFT Members are eligible to apply for $5,000 of Group Term Life Insurance with no premium payment required for the first 12 months.**

As a special benefit provided by The American Federation of Teachers, members are eligible for a $5,000 Group Term Life Insurance policy with no premium payment required for the first 12 months. If you are actively working, you can apply for increased coverage limits with no Statement of Health required for the first 12 months of employment.
This special benefit of Group Term Life is provided by The American Federation of Teachers for one year as an enhancement of your AFT membership.
All you need to do is complete, sign, date, and return the application form to the AFT+ Insurance Programs for coverage to become effective. The term life coverage will have an effective date on the first day of the month following the date the application is signed and received by the administrator.
